18 Million Rising stands in unwavering solidarity with the people of Los Angeles—and the people rising up in New York City, Chicago, San Francisco, Houston, and cities across the country—who are courageously organizing to defend our neighbors from ICE raids and militarized state violence.
As this administration unleashes a wave of terror – through illegal abductions, surveillance, and deploying National Guard troops and forced displacement of immigrants, we are witnessing the rise of fascism and the erosion of our constitutional rights and due process.
Trump’s new Travel Ban and the ongoing genocide in Palestine are interconnected – they are part of a global pattern of unlawful state repression, where borders, bans, and bombs are wielded to consolidate more riches for the poor.
We echo the urgent call: Freedom to Stay, Freedom to Move, and Freedom to Resist.
This is the time for our elected officials, judges, journalists, media outlets and every organization and institution to demand that the military not be turned against the people. Asian American history has taught us when our constitutional rights are eroded over night when scapegoating and racist hate are weaponized, our collective power and unity are our greatest strength in this fight.
Authoritarianism thrives when we are divided and silenced – as local police forces stoke fear and escalate violence against peaceful protestors, they will blame protestors for the violence. Now is the time to organize, defend, and protect our communities. Join an organization to do local ICE watch and jail support, educate your neighbors on their rights, and take action to build stronger networks of support against authoritarianism – in the streets and at home.
The fight has come to every doorstep. Let’s rise together and resist, because our freedom and future depend on it.
In solidarity,
